PROGRAM

Program Outcome:

This program is designed to transform talent in the food processing domain across the Farm-to-Fork value chain.

Commercial and Techno-commercial roles are a blend of specialised management skills coupled with technical skills in food processing that will be key to solving business challenges, creating business opportunities and transforming enterprises in the food processing industry.

After completion of this course, the participants are expected to apply management skills in their respective specialization, across the farm-to-fork value chain.

Program Delivery:

This will be an in campus program with an experiential learning advantage.

Faculty for the program will be both in-house and external. Scientists and experienced professionals in the food processing domain from both Industry and reputed Institutes will be involved in delivering this curriculum. Students are expected to have own laptops.

The curriculum includes a summer stint at CFTRI, Mysore or equivalent and a 3-month Industrial training internship with credits.

XIME will collaborate with reputed Institutes, Industry players, government bodies to foster an exposure to the food processing sector for the latest trends, insights and skills updating.

Who Can Apply?

Students with a minimum of 50% marks in their graduate or post graduate qualification in any discipline, with an interest in the food processing sector can apply.

Candidates in either science or engineering streams in agri-business domain - Food Technology, Bio-Technology, Agri-Sciences, Bio-chemistry, Bioscience, Biotechnology, Food Science, Food Technology, Food Science & Nutrition and Microbiology.

Candidates in any non-science or other engineering streams.

Candidates who have 1-5 years work experience in the food processing or allied industry, with relevant qualifications.

Special consideration for candidates opting for entrepreneurial development.

Course Pedagogy:

The course will be delivered in the form of lecture sessions, project based learning, DIY sessions, case-based discussions and industry interactions.

Assessment:

The course will have periodic evaluations during and the end of each term. The evaluations will be in form of quizzes, assignments, presentations, mini projects, and other objective/subjective assessments. The periodic evaluations are aimed at creating a suitable environment for student engagement and for boosting experiential learning process.

Certificates will be awarded to course participants who successfully complete all the academic requirements and have the necessary criteria.

Placement:

XIME has an excellent placement record. Connecting students to placement opportunities will be an endeavor for this certification program. To replicate the XIME Advantage, a career management center will be integral to this curriculum.
